The Administrative & Professional Collaborative (APC) is the representative voice for the Administrative & Professional employees of FSCJ.

In an effort to build cohesiveness, awareness and collegiality, each month we put a “spotlight” on one of our members. October's Administrative & Professional Collaborative (APC) spotlight shines on Dr. Linka Crosby.

Dr. Crosby joined FSCJ as the new Associate Dean of Workforce Operations in May 2023. She is responsible for working with the operations team to streamline department processes, including working with college offices and programs to enroll students and hire instructors. One of her goals with the Continuing Workforce Education Team is to help make the registration and enrollment process easier for students.

With a background in teaching, Dr. Crosby's passion is helping support students in all aspects of their education, from enrollment to the classroom. As an elected committee member for the Florida Department of Education for the Integrated Education and Training program, she works with the FSCJ Adult Education program to help transition students into the workforce and career certificate programs.

Before her role, Dr. Crosby was the Instructional Program Manager for Adult Education/English for Speakers of Other Languages at FSCJ. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Texas Pan-American, now known as the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, a master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and a Ph.D. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Crosby is also a certified Project Management Professional.

Dr. Crosby sits on the Northeast (NE) Florida Committee for Project Managers and participates in the Refugee Task Force Committee for NE Florida. She was awarded the 2023 Florida Lideres (Leaders) Award for Hispanic Heritage Month and the Taste of Latino Festival sponsored by Ford and LatinTimes. Dr. Crosby is a Texas native and lives in Jacksonville with her dog, Rafa. Dr. Crosby enjoys spending time reading, traveling and cooking. Ask her to make you her Chocolate Flan (Chocoflan) cake. You won't be disappointed!

Our spotlight shines on each campus/center at least once a year. Nominations for the spotlight may be directed to your campus representative or any officer. Learn more about APC on our website, http://blogs.fscj.edu/apcollaborative.
