Virtual and At-Home Testing

Students must present either a physical government-issued photo ID or FSCJ student ID. No photocopies. No exceptions.

All accommodations are approved through Student Support Services.

Private Testing Room:

1. Private testing rooms must be scheduled through an Assessment staff member. Making an appointment through SmarterProctoring or RegisterBlast does not reserve a private testing room.

2. To reserve a private testing room, call or email your center of choice. If your faculty member uses SmarterProctoring, you must be ready to schedule your appointment at the time of the call.

3. In the event all rooms are booked, you may still test at the center, but you must sign a waiver of accommodations at the time of testing.  

Double Time:

1. You must select an appointment that allows you enough time to complete your exam with the added time. Make certain to check the closing time for your location and select a time that gives the full amount of time to test. In the event you scheduled an appointment that does not give your full amount of time, you will be required to sign a waiver of accommodations at the time of testing.
2. For example, if you schedule an appointment at 3 p.m. but the center closes at 5 p.m., you may keep the appointment but you will only have two hours to complete the exam.

Readers and Scribes:

1. All readers and scribes are approved via Student Support Services.
2. Readers and scribes must be booked through Student Support Services prior to your testing appointment. Assessment staff cannot serve as readers or scribes.

Breaks:

1. Breaks are outlined by the testing information provided by Faculty. Should your accommodation need additional breaks, it is important to make certain it is included in your paperwork.
2. Breaks allow access to the restroom, comfort aids (small, medically necessary items), medications, and/or food, unless specifically outlined by your accommodations.

Any act or behavior by a student that impairs, interferes with, or otherwise disturbs or obstructs the orderly conduct, processes, functions, and/or interests of the College is expressly prohibited. Each student is subject to federal and state laws, respective county and municipal ordinances, and all rules and regulations of the College. Violations of published laws, ordinances, rules, or regulations may subject the violator to the appropriate disciplinary action by College authorities.

Disciplinary action, unless otherwise provided by law, may include fines; the withholding of diplomas or transcripts, pending compliance with rules on payments of fines; and the imposition of probation, suspension, or dismissal. Students shall be afforded due process prior to the administration of disciplinary action for violation of College conduct policies.

It is a crime in the state of Florida “for any person to knowingly and willfully take an online course or examination on behalf of another person for compensation” as per Section 1002.321(4), Fla. Stat. (2012).

The following activities and behaviors are considered violations of expected academic honesty and are subject to disciplinary action:

1. Cheating, which is defined as the giving or taking of any information or material with the intent of wrongfully aiding one's self or another in academic work considered in the determination of course grade or the outcome of a standardized assessment.

2. Plagiarism, which is defined as the act of stealing or passing off as one's own work the words, ideas or conclusions of another as if the work submitted were the product of one's own thinking rather than an idea or product derived from another source, including the product of artificial intelligence.

3. Any other form of inappropriate behavior which may include but is not limited to
1. falsifying records or data,
2. lying,
3. unauthorized copying,
4. tampering,
5. abusing or otherwise unethically using computer or other stored information, and
6. any other act or misconduct which may reasonably be deemed to be a part of this heading.

It is suggested your computer meets the following requirements in order to have a successful experience using the SmarterProctoring™ Auto system.

• Google Chrome web browser, version 74 or higher
• Webcam (internal or external)
• Microphone (internal or external)
• Stable internet connect with at least 1 Mbps upload & download speeds

If you do not have the technology required to test using the automated proctoring system, you may still be able to take your exam online. Laptop lending program.
