Upon completion of the program, graduates are awarded a technical certificate and are eligible to apply to sit for the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification exam to qualify for certification as a Florida EMT. Graduates of the technical certificate program may elect to continue for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) (2251) (A.S.) degree.

Emergency medical services (EMS) systems consist of many different components. EMT is the entry level for work in the EMS field as they provide basic life support and transportation for the sick and injured.
