Submit a Concern
Before You Submit a Concern
You do not need to have everything figured out before contacting the Ombuds Office. It is okay if you are still processing what happened or are unsure what you want to do next.
To help the Ombuds Office better understand your situation, it can be beneficial to share:
- A short description of what is going on
- Important dates or a general timeline
- The names or roles of people involved
- Any steps you have already taken
- Questions, concerns or outcomes you want to discuss
You are never required to provide more than you are comfortable sharing, and you do not need to bring documentation to start the conversation.
Important Things to Know
- The Ombuds Office is an informal resource and does not conduct investigations or make decisions for the College.
- Speaking with the Ombuds Office usually does not pause College deadlines for appeals, complaints or other formal processes.
- If you are experiencing an emergency or immediate safety concern, contact campus police, the Student Assistance Program or emergency services right away.
You Do Not Have to Navigate It Alone
Reaching out to the Ombuds Office does not mean you are filing a formal complaint or committing to any action. Sometimes students simply want a place to talk through a situation, understand their options, or feel heard. The Ombuds Office is here to support you in that process.
