Legal Interpreter (E-Learning)

Program Overview

Offered in partnership with the Southern California School of Interpretation.

Prepare for professional opportunities as a court interpreter with this comprehensive, fully online program. The program provides training in legal terminology, interpreting techniques, and exam preparation designed to help students develop the skills needed to pursue work as a State Court Interpreter.

The program is designed to be completed in approximately 9 months* and includes self-paced, on-demand courses, live online assessments, and 24/7 access to an Online Interpreting Laboratory for additional practice.

To earn the Certificate of Completion in the Court Interpreter Program, students must successfully complete the following courses with a 70% or higher:

  1. Interpreting in Criminal Proceedings I
  2. Interpreting in Criminal Proceedings II
  3. Sight Translation for Court Interpreters

*Each course is designed to be completed within 90 days. Students may complete courses sooner or request an extension when additional time is needed.
