The Associate in Science (A.S.) in Interior Design Technology degree program will tap into your creativity using a balance of theory, practical hands-on training and real-life experience to provide you with the foundation you will need to become a successful designer. Interior designers learn the characteristics and performance of textiles, computer-aided drafting skills, space-planning skills, furniture and accessory arrangement, hand drawing, rendering and color selection, communication, presentation skills and portfolios are emphasized.
Based on the professional standards established by The Council of Interior Design Accreditation and industry partners, the A.S. in Interior Design Technology degree will help you develop competencies in all phases of design.
Your degree will culminate with a professional internship during your last term that will provide you with experience in the interior design industry. It will consist of a course component and a minimum 180 hours interning in the field. This program cannot be completed entirely online. Some courses are available as hybrid, a combination of online and traditional college courses.
