The Home Staging Specialist Technical Certificate (T.C.) provides the foundational skills required for entry-level positions as a home stager. Staging a house focuses on effectively and efficiently improving a property’s marketability and equity. Homeowners, builders and realtors rely on staging a house to make a home appealing to potential buyers, thereby maximizing the selling price and minimizing the time a home sits on the market. This program can serve as supplemental training for realtors or as introductory training for those with a personal or professional interest in interior design.
There is an emphasis on basic design principles, use of color and texture, scale and proportion in designing spaces, furniture placement and environmental considerations.
The Home Staging Specialist Technical Certificate requires only four classes and can be completed in as little as one term, depending on the term.
- IND 1020 - Principles of Interior Design
- IND 1420 - Materials and Sources
- IND 1606 - Fundamentals of Interior Design
- IND 1932 - Selected Studies in Interior Design
All of the courses in this technical certificate are also included in the Associate in Science in Interior Design Technology degree. Students have the option of applying all of the coursework in this program toward the associate degree.
