Zahir Miller From being intimidated by the idea of attending college to presenting in the nation’s capital, Zahir Miller thanks FSCJ for helping her build the confidence needed to follow her passion. She graduated with her Associate in Arts degree and even served as the 2025 Commencement Ceremony speaker, sharing the story of her personal and academic journey as a first-generation student.

While at FSCJ, Zahir found community, being inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and earning spots on both the Dean’s List and the President’s List. She also became a nationally qualified member of FSCJ’s Speech & Debate Team and led the Women’s Cross Country Team as captain, earning two All-Academic honors.

“The hospitality and support I received at FSCJ gave me the nurturing environment I needed to learn and grow,” said Zahir. “FSCJ helped me create a path for myself I never imagined possible.”

Now studying at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., Zahir has plans to continue her advocacy and community service to build a brighter future for generations to come.
