In a 2 + 2 agreement, the college or university has typically agreed to accept an entire associate degree, the student is accepted at the junior level and is required to complete the equivalent of two years of full-time coursework to complete the bachelor's degree.

An Associates in Arts (A.A.) Degree will allow graduates to fulfill the General Education Requirements of state univerities within Florida before transfer. The A.A. graduate will be able to transfer directly into the junior level at the state university, provided that the prerequisites for the major have also been satisfied as part of the A.A. degree electives.

Statewide Articulation Agreements for A.A. Degree to the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF)

The A.A. General Education Requirement articulation with participating independent colleges and universities in Florida is beneficial for A.A. students transferring to a private college or university in Florida. The State Board of Community Colleges has signed an articulation agreement with the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF).

The Agreement establishes the provisions for the transfer of Associate in Arts (A.A) degree students into private colleges and universities in Florida. The Agreement guarantees that community college Associate in Arts degree students will enter as juniors, receive 60 credit hours toward their bachelor’s degree and receive recognition for the general education core taken at the community college. Twenty-six Independent Colleges and Universities in Florida have recognized the ICUF Agreement.

Statewide Articulation Agreements for A.A. Degree to other Private Colleges and Universities (that are not members of ICUF)

Some private colleges and universities that are not a member of ICUF have negotiated a Statewide Articulation Agreement for all community colleges in Florida.
