Outdoor Education Center

The Outdoor Education Center provides dynamic learning opportunities for FSCJ students, faculty and staff, as well as the larger community we serve. We are committed to experiential education through the responsible use of the outdoors as a dynamic classroom.

Low Ropes Challenge Course

The challenge course is offered as a one-day or one-half-day low ropes team-building challenge for groups of 8-14 people. Our customized program’s primary value lies in enabling small groups to discover what is required to build and maintain effective teams specifically designed to provide a series of physical and mental challenges for use in developing the following skills:

• Trust and Cooperation • Communication • Problem Solving

• Decision Making • Leadership • Team Building • Self-Esteem Enhancement

Team Building

We offer interactive team-building workshops for groups of 20-30 individuals. Participants will have a challenging and enjoyable experience where they will be engaged in the process of working together as a team to solve problems. The ropes course challenge can be added as an additional option for smaller breakout groups.

Retreats

Building rentals are available for retreats or workshops. Resources include overhead projectors/screens, slide projectors and flip chart stands. Overnight accommodations will be available soon.

Climbing

Low Ropes Challenge Course The climbing wall brings the excitement and benefits of rock climbing to a beautiful outdoor setting. Each wall program comes complete with trained facilitators and all the necessary equipment, such as harnesses, ropes and climbing hardware. It is offered as an option for all Outdoor Education Center participants, and leaves a lasting impression on all those who chose to take on the challenge.
