Dual Enrollment

Providing eligible high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to earn high school and college credits at the same time and at considerable cost savings.

You may take specific college or non-credit vocational courses that will apply toward both high school and college credits at the same time. The courses will transfer toward most university’s freshman and sophomore requirements. If you take vocational courses you will be well on your way to preparing for the workforce.

Contact your high school guidance counselor or Campus Dual Enrollment Coordinator today and get your application for Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Dual Enrollment program. You could earn college credits towards an associate’s degree or get ahead with vocational training for a great job.

Best of all, the tuition is free! If you are home schooled or your high school does not participate in the Dual Enrollment program, contact the Dual Enrollment Coordinator at the campus nearest you. District students who would like to take the PERT exam must contact their high school Guidance Counselor and arrange for testing at their high school site.

Home School students must register to take the exam through the school district.

Private school students can obtain a referral form from a Dual Enrollment Coordinator at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

Students enrolled in Florida Virtual School or Duval Virtual Instruction Academy can obtain a referral form through Duval County Public Schools at (904) 858-1450.

Public school students must contact their school about when and where they can take the PERT exam.

The SAT and ACT exams are administered at many locations throughout the First Coast . Please visit their websites for more information about the exams and the registration processes.

There is no fee for the first attempt of the PERT exam for Dual Enrollment students. Any attempt taken at FSCJ after the first sitting while the student has active placement scores will cost $32 regardless of the number of subtests taken.

Dual Enrollment students must provide their referral form at the time of testing for each attempt.

Appointments to take the PERT exam at FSCJ can be made by clicking here and selecting your desired campus testing location. Dual Enrollment students must present their referral form at the time of the exam.  Public school students who wish to participate in the Dual Enrollment program must contact their school about times and locations for the PERT exam.

Assessment results will be provided to the test taker immediately following the exam.

Other examinations not offered at Florida State College at Jacksonville:

+Beginning January 1, 2015 these exams will no longer be offered by DSST; however, FSCJ will still award college credit for these exams, with acceptable scores, taken prior to 1/1/2015.
