The DeafTEC grant serves as a resource for high schools and colleges that educate Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-related programs on how to best accommodate Deaf college students or those with hearing loss. The goal is to integrate more Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals into the workplace in highly-skilled technician jobs. Often, these individuals are underrepresented and underutilized in these types of roles.

As a regional DeafTEC partner, Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) is working to improve access to technological education and employment for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in our community.
