STUDENT FEE PUBLIC NOTICE

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

The District Board of Trustees for Florida State College at Jacksonville will act upon the following matters at its next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the College’s Administrative Offices, Board Room 405, 501 West State Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202.

NOTICE OF PROPOSED COURSE FEES AND CHARGES

The proposed actions will authorize the College to change the fees for the following courses, pursuant to FSCJ Board Rule 6Hx7-4.19, to be effective Fall Term 2021. The recommended fees are projected to have no net fiscal impact on the College. The courses are: 1.) ATF 2305, Instrument Flight; ATF 2201, Commercial Flight 1; ATF 2202, Commercial Flight 2; ATF 2203, Commercial Flight 3; ATF 2400, Multi-Engine Flight and ATF 2500, Certified Flight Instructor. The Federal Aviation Administration had updated the required hours for pilot training. The recommended fees reflect the updated cost for contracted flight training services based on the new requirements as well as a $5 per hour increase to the contracted flight instructor rate, and 2.) AMT 1751L, Aviation Maintenance Technology General I; AMT 1752L, Aviation Maintenance Technology General II; AMT 1753L, Aviation Maintenance Technology General III; AMT 1754L, Aviation Maintenance Technology General IV; AMT 1761L, Aviation Maintenance Technology Airframe I; AMT 1762L, Aviation Maintenance Technology Airframe II; AMT 1763L, Aviation Maintenance Technology Airframe III; AMT 1764L, Aviation Maintenance Technology Airframe IV; AMT 1771L, Aviation Maintenance Technology Powerplant I; AMT 1772L, Aviation Maintenance Technology Powerplant II; AMT 1773L, Aviation Maintenance Technology Powerplant III and AMT 1774L Aviation Maintenance Technology Powerplant IV. It is recommended that course fees for the Aviation Maintenance Technology program be modified to remove the fees related to the FAA certification written, oral and practical exams. Students will pay for these fees at the testing center.

Any person requesting to address the above matters will be provided an opportunity to do so by appearing before the Board at the August 10 meeting. Copies of the Fees and Charges item will be available for inspection beginning July 13 in the Office of the College President, Room 408D, 501 West State Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202 as well as on the College’s website: Fees and Charges item https://www.fscj.edu/ under the Student Notice Alert.
