FSCJ Offering Support Initiatives to Help Students Apply, Enroll and Pay for College
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) has launched multiple initiatives and events designed to encourage and support students as they prepare to apply, register and enroll for college during the summer and fall terms. The support efforts will help incoming students through financial incentives, while events are in the works to give students and families tips and information on the variety of ways to pay for college.
- Application fees are being waived during the month of May for all incoming students. Apply at fscj.edu/apply.
- Jump-Start 2021 is a new, two for the price of one opportunity available for graduating seniors from Duval and Nassau counties. During the summer C7 session, students can register for one three-credit hour class and a second three-credit hour class can be taken at no cost. The summer C7 session begins on July 6.
- A live, virtual event, “Form Your Future: Financial Aid Homestretch,” will be held on Tuesday, May 11 at 6 p.m. to help college-bound students and their families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Learn more.
“We know many people are weighing their educational options right now so we’re excited to offer these different programs to demonstrate our commitment to being their educational partner, from start to finish,” said College President John Avendano, Ph.D. “As we work toward offering a more traditional educational experience this fall, we’re looking forward to welcoming the new students to our FSCJ family and to inviting those back who have previously put their education on hold.”
FSCJ is also launching support programs for current students as they continue their academic pursuit. Students who graduated from a Duval or Nassau county high school during 2020 and attended the College during the Fall 2020 Term are eligible for a free three-hour credit class when they register for 12 or more credit hours during the Fall 2021 Term. Eligible students are being contacted directly by the Enrollment team to discuss their options.
