WHAT: Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) will host the seventh event in its Business Speaker Series, presented by First Florida Credit Union. “Disruption: The Future of Work” will feature Founder and CEO of Global Foresight Mary O’Hara-Devereaux, Ph.D. This event was previously scheduled for October but was moved to December 11 due to Hurricane Michael.
Dr. O’Hara-Devereaux has established a global reputation for guiding leaders and senior executives from across the world toward meeting their goals. In addition to her role at Global Foresight, a think tank and strategy consulting firm in San Francisco, she has served as a senior director at Silicon Valley’s Institute for the Future, professor at Peking University, the University of California and the University of Hawaii. She also serves on a number of company and non-profit boards and chairs a CEO Group in San Francisco.
Dr. O’Hara-Devereaux is the author of the best-selling books, “Navigating the Badlands: Thriving in the Decade of Radical Transformation” and “China Five-Year Forecast: Creating the New Marketplace,” and has consulted with many Fortune 100 companies such as Procter & Gamble, Intel, The Walt Disney Company and Coca-Cola.
She is a top-rated keynote speaker for organizations including Apple, Inc., Levi Strauss & Co., Oracle, Merck, BASF, Heineken, China Merchant Bank, the Milken Global Institute, Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and the National Council on Aging.
The Business Speaker Series was made possible by a $250,000 commitment from First Florida Credit Union to support initiatives that will help local students and community members become future business leaders. The funding helped launch the series and will bolster the College’s Financial Skills Academy over the span of five years.
Seating is limited. Online registration is required. Visit fscj.edu/business-speakers.
