While the Student Recruitment Office is in the business of using words to share the FSCJ story with prospective students, we recognize the limits of language alone. Words can inform, but they can’t always capture the full experience of what our wonderful institution offers at campuses and center locations across a vibrant, two-county district.
The on-campus experience paints the picture and tells the story we want our prospective students to leave with. We want them to walk away with a feeling of awe to text, tweet or tell others about FSCJ.
A visit to the aquaponics lab on the Downtown Campus is one of those opportunities. A tour of the lab might begin with a sniff of fresh lemon basil or a whiff of oregano just a few feet away. The gentle bubbling of the fish tank, home to tilapia that help nourish the lab’s produce, adds another layer of sensory engagement. These experiences bring the space to life, transforming the highly technical area into a living, breathing learning environment. And the wall of work gloves, each with the name and term employed of former student workers, is a vivid illustration of the hands-on experiences that can shape our students’ journeys.
So, the next time you’re asked about FSCJ, you can extend an invitation to request a Campus Experience or connect with our team at fscjrecruitment@fscj.edu.
