FSCJ’s Health Navigator Associate in Science (A.S.) program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to walk alongside patients through treatment plans, appointment scheduling, insurance benefits and available community services.
Health navigators are on the front lines of the healthcare industry, directly assisting patients to ensure they have access to and are taking full advantage of available resources for their specialized and often life-saving needs.
In addition to classroom instruction, students experience hands-on learning to develop critical technical knowledge, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
A Health Navigator Specialist Technical Certificate (T.C.) is embedded within the A.S. degree program. This T.C. is recommended for students who already have a degree but want to gain the skills needed to become a Health Navigator. This professional certificate will elevate field-specific skills and enhance a resume to boost employability for program graduates.
"Every student in the Health Navigator program has the potential to become a bridge between healthcare and the community. This program isn't just about gaining knowledge—it's about developing the heart and voice to advocate for others, navigate complex systems and bring compassion into every corner of care." - Dr. Monica Franklin, Dean of Health Sciences
