The power of partnership often serves as the key to unlocking access to a myriad of prospective student populations in our service district. Whether we are connecting with resource-challenged families, high school students participating in college preparation programs or young adults on non-traditional educational tracks, collaborative efforts can significantly strengthen these connections. Some populations may struggle more than others in making and maintaining ties with the College. Through partnerships, sometimes formalized through Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), other times grounded in simple verbal agreements, or nurtured through years-long relationships, the Student Recruitment Office can guide more prospective students into postsecondary opportunities through its community connections.
Two examples of these partnerships – one established and one recent – are with Jacksonville Job Corps and Ability Housing Inc., both backed by MOUs. Furthermore, the partnerships with our local school districts are rooted in historical collaboration aimed at transitioning students from K-12 to valuable college and career pathways.
The College’s departments and employees may request the Student Recruitment Office’s support for their community relationships and partnerships.
