The Administrative & Professional Collaborative (APC) is the representative voice for the Administrative & Professional employees of FSCJ.
In an effort to build cohesiveness, awareness and collegiality, each month we put a “spotlight” on one of our members. August's Administrative & Professional Collaborative (APC) spotlight shines on Dean of Workforce Education Dr. Greg Wurth.
For the past three years, Dr. Wurth has served FSCJ as the Director of Workforce and Community Development where he works with local industries and non-profits to develop workforce educational solutions to meet the needs of the expanding First Coast economy. In this role, he has provided leadership, vision and direction to the Continuing Workforce Education (CWE) Department. During this time, CWE has seen an expansion in courses offered, students enrolled and served, student employment and connections with internal and external stakeholders.
Prior to FSCJ, Dr. Wurth served as the Director of Organizational Learning and Development for Georgia Southern University, the Director of Services for the University of Pennsylvania foundation (Penn Athletics), Lecturer, and Director of Basic Courses for the Department of Organizational Communication at Murray State University. Prior to working full-time in higher education, Greg worked in marketing for various private companies while teaching (as an adjunct) communication courses for various higher education institutions.
He has an Associate of Arts from West Kentucky Community and Technical College, a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a Master of Science in Organizational Communication from Murray State University, as well as a Doctorate in Education Leadership from Drexel University.
Originally from Western Kentucky (Paducah), Greg has lived in the Philadelphia, PA area, and Savannah, GA, prior to moving to the Jacksonville region. Currently, he and his beautiful wife, Karri, live in Saint Johns with their two intelligent and kind daughters Isabella and Bailey, a couple of cats and a dog named Winston. The Wurths enjoy boating, beaching, traveling, exploring the area’s restaurants and photography.
Our spotlight shines on each campus/center at least once a year. Nominations for the spotlight may be directed to your campus representative or any officer. Learn more about APC on our website, http://blogs.fscj.edu/apcollaborative.
