Dominique Beeks recently earned her Associate in Arts and Funeral Services Associate in Science at FSCJ and is now enrolled in the Florida Funeral Director Technical Certificate program. She plans to begin the Supervision and Management Bachelor of Applied Science soon to continue working toward her goal of becoming a licensed funeral director/embalmer.
Dominique’s long-term goal is to own and operate a funeral home. She’s always known she wanted to pursue a career in the medical field and feels that she’s found her place in mortuary science. Dominique hopes to one day to serve the people in her community at their most difficult time with compassion and care.
She explained that she has been positively impacted by many different people during her time spent at FSCJ, but one of her professors made a statement that leads how she conducts herself: “If you don’t have time to do it right, then you must have time to do it again.”
She added, “Taking those words and bringing them into life, I’m going to put my best effort forward, in school, work and serving my community.”
