FSCJ and Rayonier, Inc. announced on Tuesday, March 26 the creation of the Rayonier Workforce and Technical Certificate Endowed Scholarship, along with the expansion of the Rayonier Community Fund Scholarship. Through Rayonier's generous $80,000 donation, both scholarships will provide Nassau County residents with financial assistance for college.
The new Rayonier Workforce and Technical Certificate Endowed Scholarship will benefit qualified Nassau County residents who are enrolled in the following technical or workforce certificates:
- Fire Officer Supervisor Technical Certificate
- Geographic Information System (GIS) Technician Technical Certificate
- Commercial Vehicle Driving Workforce Certificate
- Firefighter I/II Workforce Certificate
- Welding Technology Workforce Certificate
The existing scholarship, Rayonier Community Fund Scholarship, is expanding to provide financial assistance to qualified Nassau County residents enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours, entering FSCJ with a 2.5 high school GPA or maintaining a 2.5 GPA at FSCJ.
Students who graduated from a Nassau County high school or obtained their GED within the previous five years will be given preference for both scholarships.
