Automotive Service Technology (5609)

Following this program, you’ll have the green light to enter a well-paid career as a car and light truck service technician at a local dealership, garage or other auto repair facility.

You’ll learn to diagnose and repair engines; fuel, electrical, cooling, brake, drive train and suspension systems; and automatic and manual transmissions. Troubleshooting skills, and service and maintenance of domestic and import automobiles are covered. Individuals previously or currently employed in these occupations can benefit from this up-to-date supplemental training, which includes class and shop experience. If you want to concentrate on one area, there are exit points in the program.

Application Procedure
Students enrolled in this program may be required to enroll in basic skills training. This will be determined by their scores on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Students in this program should be advised by the instructor or the program manager before enrolling in courses. For information call 904.633.8334.
