Business Baccalaureate Program Accreditation

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Board of Commissioners approved FSCJ's four business baccalaureate programs for accreditation. In fact, FSCJ was the only state college in Florida to have all of its business baccalaureate programs accredited.

Culinary Students Host Themed Dining Events

Last month, FSCJ culinary students from the Catering and Buffet Management summer class prepared and presented a selection of themed lunches and dinners, each with a unique twist. Some of the culinary themes included Gatsby Nights, A Day at the Spa and Latin American Gastronomic Adventure. Students were charged with preparing all dishes and adding their creative touch to bring it all to life with decorations. Check out a few photos of the events below. 

Board Highlights

Review the highlights of the June 11, 2019, meeting of the FSCJ District Board of Trustees:

• The District Board of Trustees approved the 2019-20 Salary Index as part of the Pay Plan.
• The District Board of Trustees approved the specified successor articles of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the College and the United Faculty of Florida - Florida State College at Jacksonville ("Union") as ratified by the faculty on May 29, 2019.
• The District Board of Trustees approved the submission of the College's 2018-19 Annual Equity Update Report to the Florida Department of Education as required by Florida Statute. 
• The District Board of Trustees accepted the audit report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2018, for the Florida State College at Jacksonville Foundation, Inc. and the audit checklist, as required by Florida law.
• The District Board of Trustees approved the College's 2019-20 Operating Budget.
• The District Board of Trustees approved the Fiscal Year 2019-20 Capital Outlay Budget.

Faculty/Staff Accomplishments

The Department of Education and Human Services was recently recognized for their data collection and analysis efforts by the Florida Department of Education. Dr. Shannon Groff, Early Childhood Education faculty, was asked to present on best practices at the Florida Department of Education's Community of Practice webinar in May. The webinar included participants from other state colleges and universities.
