Firefighter I and Firefighter II

The Firefighter I and II Workforce Certificate (W.C.) programs provide students the opportunity for gaining valuable hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art training facility which includes a maritime fire trainer. Students also learn about communications, fire prevention and handling hazardous material emergencies, which fully prepares students for certification and employment as a firefighter in the state of Florida.

Degree Options

Students who successfully complete the Firefighter II W.C. program qualify to sit for the state minimum standards written, oral and practical examination as administered by the Bureau of Fire Standards and Training.

Career Opportunities

Firefighters control and put out fires, and respond to emergency situations where life, property, or the environment is at risk (Bureau of Labor Statistics).
