The Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology II Workforce Certificate (W.C.) program prepares students for a rewarding career in the all-encompassing HVAC/R industry. Instruction consists of academic as well as laboratory and hands-on training designed to prepare the student for numerous industry standards and practical certification. Upon successful completion, students will be qualified for a position as a commercial entry-level air conditioning or refrigeration and heating technology technician.

Certification and Licensing

This certificate program is designed for those who want to become employed upon completion of the program.

Two workforce certificates are embedded within the Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology W.C. program: Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology I and Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology II. These certificates can be earned while completing the ACR&H program or pursued individually to upgrade skills in a particular area.

Career Opportunities

Heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers—often called heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) technicians—work on heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration systems that control the temperature and air quality in buildings (Bureau of Labor Statistics).
