Travis Revels

Travis came to Florida State College at Jacksonville in 1992, and currently is Engineer V - Software, reporting to the AVP Enterprise Applications.

Travis is responsible for leading the Open Systems Team of 5 Engineers. Travis’ Team is responsible for Blackboard, Orion – Unix administration, System printers, server backups, Disaster Recovery for Orion and Blackboard, faculty ftp web server, student ftp web server, Connections – Unix administration, FSCJ.edu web server, Linux servers, Unix servers, Apache servers, Tomcat servers, Blog servers, wiki servers, SharePoint for staff portal, usage monitoring of these enterprise systems.

Some of Travis’s projects include Blackboard upgrades, Enterprise server replace/upgrades, web servers, cost analysis of hosted environments versus in-house hosting.

Travis likes to waterski in Black Creek on his AirChair hydrofoil. He also likes Florida Gator football and basketball. He lives on Lake Asbury near Green Cove Springs. Family members are Joette (wife) and daughter Madeline.

Highlights


Travis received manufacturer certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, Novell, IBM, and others. He attended Lander University and earned a certificate from Florida Technical College. He is seeking a degree from Florida State College.
