Linda Moniz
Linda, came to Florida State College at Jacksonville in 2008, and currently is ISS (Technician II - Operations), reporting to Rick Shierling.
Linda is responsible for the evening shift computer operations, including Financial-Aid, Payroll, Student updates and various other runs as requested.
Some of Linda’s projects include keeping schedules and updates current, answering phones and being flexible to spur of the minute changes and problems; to be on top of all new updates and inputs.
Linda attended numerous technical schools and pass/fail courses while employed for 32 years with BellSouth Telecommunications. As a DBA with Comcast for 4 years, went to Convergys schools to be able to build the billing system that Comcast uses today.
Linda likes puzzles and crafts in her downtime. In the earlier years was an amateur and briefly a professional skater capturing a senior ladies figure skating title in 1971. Snow and water skiing and tennis are also favorites. She lives in Jacksonville. She is a member of the Jacksonville Zoo, Jacksonville Humane Assoc., various art groups, ladies groups at our church. Lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and served as Secretary for 2 years; she is also a member in good standing of the UF Alumni Association.
Some of her artwork from the early years has traveled around the world and earned a scholarship to attend UF for arts and Interior Design.
While working at Bellsouth was chosen over 5000 employees to run the Olympic Torch in Jacksonville through San Marco after winning a Golden Marathon Award for service excellence in 1996.
