Gary George

Gary, came to Florida State College at Jacksonville in Dec 1992 as a Microcomputer Specialist I, and then in Dec 1996 as a Microcomputer Specialist II, and is now currently an Integrated Systems Specialist, reporting to Jeff Foster.

Gary is responsible for the management, maintenance, and support of Information Technology resources at Kent Campus & Cecil Center locations that assist students, faculty, and staff with their college related goals that involve technology. Also at Kent, Gary provides audio and visual technical support for major campus events in the Main Auditorium and other locations as needed.

Some of Gary’s projects include assisting and support in deployment of the new Kent Academic Success Center (ASC),Digital Learner/Media Center (DLC), Academic Learning Center (ALC), Humanities Language Lab, and Faculty Resource Center (FRC) all in the Library Learning Commons (LLC) located in C100, and the facilities located at Cecil Center, Aircraft Services Educational Facility, and Aviation Center for Excellence.

Gary served almost eight years in the United States Air Force where he attended Administrative Management training along with Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership Training.

Gary likes to regularly sing in the church choir at St Pius V Catholic Church. He likes to view the most current Marvel comic book movies. Gary plans the music for weekly church services. Gary assists with his family annual reunion planning. He assists with annual campus holiday luncheon planning. Gary is a lifelong Jacksonville resident. Gary currently serves as the Vice President and Treasurer of the Magnolia Gardens North Neighborhood Association. Gary is a lifelong member of the Air Force Sargent’s Association.

Gary graduated with an Associate’s degree in Electronics Technology from Florida State College at Jacksonville. Gary has achieved in A+ Certifications, Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist 10.4, and currently studying to recertify for the Apple Certified Desktop and Portable Technician along with the Apple Certified Mac Technician.
