A New Way to Use Video Online
If you’ve struggled trying to load video into your Blackboard course shells, we have a new solution we think you’re going to like. It’s a product called Kaltura, and it’s replacing our current video distribution system.
Kaltura integrates seamlessly into Blackboard. Among the system’s key features:
- Record directly from your webcam to Blackboard
- Upload video and image files directly to Blackboard
- Manage all of your multimedia from right within Blackboard
- Compression and conversion are handled on the back end of the system. It’s automatic, so you don’t have to worry about making changes to your own files. The system does all of the work for you, then displays the video in whatever format works best for the device on which you’re viewing: desktop, mobile, etc.
What does all of this mean to you? It means it just got very simple to introduce yourself to your students, create video announcements or create a quick and simple video to explain difficult content. It means it’s easier than ever to make your courses more personal and interactive. It means we think you’ll like Kaltura!
