If you are missing content for Spring Term courses, this is the procedure you need to follow.
As you may know, there have been a number of issues in the process of upgrading Blackboard from 9.0 to 9.1. The most important problem that we are aware of at this time is the inability to locate content from many previous term courses. If you are experiencing this issue, and you need to prepare for Spring Term courses, please follow these instructions.
Part 1: Archiving Your Course from Bb 9.0
- Go to http://bb90.fscj.edu
- Log into Blackboard 9.0 – This archive system will look noticeably different than before.
- Select the course that contains the content you want to use in your new course.
- Inside the course, under Course Management, Control Panel click Package and Utilities. Then click Export/Archive Course.
- Click the Archive button.
- For Item 1 do not include the grade center.
- If you are presented with item 2 regarding Content Collection Items, select no. Do not include content collection items.
- Click Submit.
- Wait for the e-mail that will confirm the process has completed. It will take a few minutes depending on the size of your course and network traffic.
- Read the results section of the e-mail once it arrives to ensure that the process completed successfully. If so, you can return to your course and Export /Archive area as before to download the course.
- Click on the title to download the file. Do not unzip the file after downloading.
Part 2: Importing Your Course to Bb 9.1
- Go to http://bb.fscj.edu
- Select your course that is in need of content.
- Inside the course, under Course Management, Control Panel, click Package and Utilities. Then click Import Package/View Logs.
- On the next page click the Import Package button on the top left.
- Under number 2 click Choose File and select the archive file you downloaded to your computer from the old system.
- Under number 3 check ALL boxes.
- Click Submit.
- You will get a message saying the import has been queued. Once completed you will receive an e-mail.
We have also prepared this video to guide you through the process.
