Program Overview
The GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Technician Technical Certificate (T.C.) will provide the essential skills and knowledge needed to obtain entry level jobs as a GIS Technician. The certificate will also increase job skills for other Engineering Technology degrees. GIS is a computer-based tool used to map and analyze spatial relationships. GIS technology integrates database operations with statistical analysis and presents this information visually using different mapping methods. Improved computer software and hardware is increasing the potential GIS applications and career opportunities open to individuals with this experience.
