Program Overview
The Food and Beverage Management Technical Certificate (T.C.) program is designed to provide career-oriented students with basic catering and management principles and training for supervisory/management positions in the food service industry and hospitality industry. The program provides students with a foundation for building a rewarding career in the second largest and fastest growing industry in Florida. Examples of hospitality management jobs after completing the food and beverages management certificate program include food service manager, catering manager and restaurant manager.
Educational coursework outside of culinary classes includes an emphasis on communication, management, human relations and leadership skills.
The coursework in this program is designed in partnership with the area’s leading caterers, restaurants and hotels. Students in the Food and Beverage Management (Catering) program must complete 300 hours at a food and beverage internship. Students are regularly recruited for culinary internships that earn college credits along with profitable work experience.
