Dear Parent/Family Member:
Posted by Kevin Cotton Sat, April 16, 2011 4:52 pm EDT
As the Director of Recruitment at Florida State College at Jacksonville, it is my charge to lead the college's effort to engage the community, enlighten parents, students and community members, and encourage informed decision making in the pursuit of a college degree. This is why we have brought this Parent-Family page to your mobile device or computer screen.
It is my earnest hope and determined desire that this site provides parents and family members with the information they need to make good decisions about attending college. This decision making begins long before a young person enters his/her senior year of high school. This decision making, according to college choice experts, should begin early in a young person’s life. We recognize that the decision making has to be supported by meaningful information and helpful guidance. That’s our aim.
Your visit to this site lets us know you seek information to support your steps and those of your student down this exciting and intimidating road. I hope this will be the first of many visits you make to the site. We intend to add information regularly so your visits and our efforts are meaningful. The first installment on the blog page sets the stage of our commitment. This installment was written by Amy Perkins, Downtown Campus dean of student success. With the fall semester a mere three weeks away, Dean Perkins’s gives insight for parents (and students) on how a student can start his/her college career on the right foot. Have a read. It’s written for you.
Thank you.

Where can I find the Family Education Privacy Form for my son to fill out?
By Amber Richter Fri, August 10, 2012 3:40 am EDT
I would like to know why it is that you are telling my husband that he is being denied financial when he has passed all three classes with a 4.0…Kinda fishy to me. From day one you and /or your employees have done nothing but make it extremely difficult for my husband to attend classes. You have his whole family stressing about this situation, if it does not get resolved we will be contacting the channel 4 news station for some more big hits on Financial aid discrimination or maybe you would like to clear something up here for my husband to understand why you will not resolve this obvious mistake either the system has made or you yourself have made. Please find it in your heart to get to the bottom of this situation, I hate my husband being so stressed. Thanks for your time, Amber Richter
