    I remember my mom taking me to my very first cheerleading class. She dressed me in my favorite play shorts (they were pink, my favorite color at the time) and a white tank top that had a pink megaphone on it, which she had bought when she registered me for the class. White ribbons streamed through my lopsided pig tails. I was excited and nervous at the same time and with every step my new sneakers lit up.

    It’s a benefit of social media and networking. It’s the NASA Tweetup! NASA recently held a contest on Twitter for the ultimate shuttle experience. For each of the final launches of Discovery, Endeavour, and Atlantis, 150 Tweeters were randomly selected to head to Kennedy Space Center for a 2-day space adventure. It was a contest that included Tweeters from all over the world.

    For those pursuing the dream to fly and find a job as a professional pilot, there are major changes taking place as well.  First, Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Aviation Center of Excellence is working on bringing the flight training to Cecil Airport with a new contractor, Sunrise Aviation from Ormond Beach.
