FSCJ to Host Student Research Conference

FSCJ to Host Student Research Conference

On Friday, April 14, FSCJ will host the third annual Student Research Conference, providing students with an opportunity to share their passions for exploring, writing and living them out expressively.

Students will present exclusive research to stimulate thought-provoking discussion among faculty, featured panelists and guests. Faculty moderators will facilitate scholarly research presentations which will be delivered in paper format or in a poster session.

Flagler College Professor of History Dr. Michael Butler will serve as the keynote speaker. He earned both his master’s and doctorate in history from the University of Mississippi, where he specialized in 20th century Southern history with an emphasis on the civil rights movement.

Dr. Butler is a seasoned author with more than 40 publications credited to his name. He received the 2016 Florida Book Award Silver Medal in the non-fiction category for his latest book, “Beyond Integration: The Black Freedom Struggle in Escambia County, Florida, 1960-1980.”

The Student Research Conference will be held at Deerwood Center. We encourage our faculty and staff to attend and support these hardworking students.
