Downtown Campus Student Recognition Day

Downtown Campus Student Recognition Day

FSCJ Downtown Campus held a Student Recognition Day Ceremony to celebrate students for demonstrating exceptional academic achievement, leadership, motivation and perseverance.

The faculty and staff nominated students who have demonstrated these special qualities to be recognized at the ceremony.

It was an exciting and emotional moment as each student’s name was called to receive their “Award of Excellence.” As the students received their award, the reason for their nomination was read by Professor Steve Piscitelli. The students were so excited and proud to hear what the faculty and staff had to say about them and to hear the cheers and applause from their fellow students, family and friends.

Each student received a medallion, with Florida State College at Jacksonville engraved on the front, along with a certificate of recognition.

Certificates for the Seed, Brain Bowl and Who’s Who Among American Colleges & Universities were also awarded.

In addition to the certificates of recognition eight outstanding students were awarded a $1,000 scholarship for the Summer Term. The students who received this award are listed below.
