Tuition Discounts and Scholarships
If you are concerned about the cost of your education at a particular college, you may be interested in various tuition discounts and transfer student scholarships available to Florida State College students and employees through our articulation agreements and statewide partnerships.
If the institution in which you are interested is not on this list, it does not mean that the institution does not offer transfer student scholarships. It may mean that the information has not been communicated to our office.

Tuition Discounts
- Capella University offers a 10% discount to Florida State College employees. The 10% discount extends to full time and part time Florida State College employees and is awarded to all Florida State College faculty, staff, alumni, regardless of degree (bachelors, masters, doctorate). The discount applies to all courses in the degree program.
- Nova Southeastern University Fischler School of Education offers Florida State College staff, faculty and administrators a tuition grant of 15% for any of their Master’s, Educational Specialist, Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Education, and Doctoral Programs.
- Nova Southeastern University Fischler School of Education also offers Florida State College students, who graduate with an A.A. degree with an intended transfer major of education, a tuition grant of 15% upon entering 2 + 2 articulated programs.
- Nova Southeastern University H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship offers Florida State College students, staff and faculty a tuition reduction (equal to 25% per credit hour off the ground-course tuition rate) toward all Huizenga Master's programs (except MS in Leadership), associated concentrations and all Huizenga graduate certificates.
- Franklin University offers a free Online Learning Strategies course to Florida State College employees. This university offers a 15% discount to full- or part-time permanent Florida State College employees enrolled in an undergraduate program at Franklin. This university offers a 10% discount to full- or part-time permanent Florida State College employees enrolled in a graduate program at Franklin. Florida State College employees must submit the Franklin University Tuition Reduction Request Form each term – including employment verification. The tuition reduction benefit is for Franklin University tuition only. Franklin offers a Military Family Member Discount which entitles eligible students to a 15% discount on a bachelor’s degree and a 10% discount on a master’s degree.
- Northcentral University offers a 10% discount to Florida State College employees and recent graduates.
- Regis University offers a 10% discount to full-time Florida State College employees.
- University of Maryland University College offers transfer scholarships to eligible staff members of participating community colleges in the United States.
Transfer Student Scholarships
- Bellevue University: Scholarship opportunities are available, but not specific to community college students or individual partnerships. Prospective students can inquire about scholarships with their enrollment counselor.

Eagle Transfer Scholarship
The Eagle Transfer Scholarship, formerly known as the Community College Transfer Scholarship, is a competitive scholarship for qualified state college transfer students. Recipients are awarded on the basis of financial need and focused upon students from underserved and or underrepresented areas as it pertains to Florida Gulf Coast University, as well as other select criteria.
Criteria for Awards:- Students must submit an application to the Office of Community Outreach by the published deadline.
- Students must be admitted to Florida Gulf Coast University as a degree seeking student.
- Students must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintain full-time status for the Fall and Spring semesters.
- Students must participate in the regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
- Students must also satisfy all of the following:
1. Have a minimum transfer GPA of 3.0;
2. Have completed an AA or AS degree from an accredited Florida State or Community College; and
3. Have submitted a completed 2012-2013 FAFSA form to the U. S. Department of Education by the published deadline.
Scholarship:
- The scholarship awards are $500 per semester for four (4) consecutive semesters.
- The number of awards will depend on available funds. Initially a maximum of 12 awards will be active at any one time.
Renewal:
- Students must maintain their full-time status for each term of award and must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for the award to be continued a second year.
- Students must continue participation in regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
- All recipients will be reviewed at the end of the first year for renewal eligibility.
Award Process:
- Each recipient will be sent an email detailing the award and under which conditions it will be applied and renewed.
Be ready to Apply
Below is the necessary information in order to make your application easy.- UIN (University Identification Number). This number is sent to all applicants upon submission of the admission application. For further information contact the Office of Community Outreach at 239-590-1258.
- Have the Name of the Institution from which you graduated or are attending as well as the type of degree awarded, date awarded, and cumulative GPA.
- Are you a First-Generation Student? (meaning neither of your parents have earned a 4-year college degree)
- You will need to answer 2 essay questions, with 250 words maximum. Below are the questions you will be asked. Please type your answers in a Word document. You will need to copy and paste your answers in the application as time is limited.
- Explain any family or financial circumstances that you feel should be taken into consideration for this scholarship.
- Please tell us why you deserve a scholarship and what sets you apart from other candidates.

- University of Maryland University College - Recipients may be awarded $1,000/year ($500 for fall, $500 for spring). UMUC offers transfer scholarships to outstanding graduates of participating out of state community colleges. Recipients may be awarded $3,300/year for full-time study or $1,650/year for part-time study. UMUC will waive the $50 admission application fee if the student completes the online UMUC admission application prior to graduating from the community/state college, with the intent that the student will enroll at UMUC after completing the associates degree at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

Transfer Student Application Fee Waivers
Strayer University – Florida State College graduates utilizing the existing articulation agreement can have the Strayer application fee waived.
University of Maryland University College - UMUC will waive the $50 admission application fee if the student completes the online UNUM admission application prior to graduating from the community/state college, with the intent that the student will enroll at UMUC after completing the associate degree at Florida State College at Jacksonville.
