Statewide Articulations
This page contains information about four different types of statewide articulations:
- A.S. to B.S. statewide articulations with public/state universities in the state of Florida
- A.A. to B.A./B.S. statewide articulations at public/state universities in the state of Florida, and
- A.A. to B.A./B.S. statewide articulations at private universities that are members of ICUF (Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida).
- A.A., A.S., and/or A.A.S. to B.A./B.S. statewide articulations at private colleges and universities (that are not members of ICUF).
Statewide articulations" are developed at the state level, rather between Florida State College and one university. "Statewide articulations" include all of the public community colleges in Florida.
The first chart contains the statewide articulated A.S. to B.S. programs in which Florida State College participates. These agreements specify Florida State College A.S. degree programs that will transfer to any Florida state university offering the program. Below this list, you will find information about the statewide articulated A.A. program to state universities and the A.A. General Education Requirement articulation to participating independent colleges and universities in Florida.
A.S. to B.S. Statewide Articulation Agreements
These agreements specify Florida State College A.S. degree programs that will transfer to any Florida state university offering the program. The list only contains the A.S. to B.S. Statewide Articulation Agreements that Florida State College participates in. These agreements specify A.S. degree programs that will transfer to any Florida state university offering the matching bachelors degree program, such as A.S. Nursing to B.S. Nursing (not all state universities have matching bachelor’s programs). Please note that only a few of Florida State College AS degrees are included in this statewide articulation agreement. For a complete list of A.S. to B.S. Statewide Articulation Agreements, please visit the FACTS website or view the Office of Articulation, Florida Department of Education Career Ladder Agreements.
Students may only transfer from the specific major to the specific major, ie. A.S. Nursing to B.S. Nursing, as listed in the chart below. One cannot, for example, transfer an A.S. in Business Administration to a B.S. in Nursing. Students who have graduated with an A.S. prior to Fall 2000 are not eligible to participate in these specific statewide articulation agreements, but are still eligible to apply for transfer to any college or university.
Applicants who qualify for this program are not guaranteed admission to limited access programs, such as Nursing, or programs that require specific grade point average in specific coursework.
The junior/senior years in a statewide articulated A.S. to B.S. programs are typically offered at the campus of the state university, and include the equivalent of two years of full-time coursework after completion of the A.S. degree.
*For information on statewide articulation agreements, please contact your Florida State College advisor or counselor for assistance in preparing for transfer.

Statewide Articulation Agreement for the A.A. Degree to a state university provides several benefits, including the following:
- All courses with satisfactory completion taken to meet A.A. requirements are protected under the provisions of the articulation agreement and will automatically transfer. This is not true of students without an A.A. degree.
- No additional general education courses are required when transferring with an A.A. degree. The A.A. General Education Requirements will have been met in the A.A. degree, thus allowing the A.A. graduate to transfer into the junior level at the state university, provided that the prerequisites for the major have also been satisfied as part of the A.A. degree electives.
For more information, please review the University Transfer Guide, the Florida Department of Education Transfer Brochure 2+2 Pathways to Success and the Transfer Student Rights Poster.
"Statewide Articulation Agreements for A.A. Degree to the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF)
The A.A. General Education Requirement articulation with participating independent colleges and universities in Florida is beneficial for A.A. students transferring to a private college or university in Florida. The State Board of Community Colleges has signed an articulation agreement with the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF). The Agreement establishes the provisions for the transfer of Associate in Arts degree students into private colleges and universities in Florida. The Agreement guarantees that community college Associate in Arts degree students will enter as juniors, receive 60 credit hours toward their bachelor’s degree, and receive recognition for the general education core taken at the community college. Twenty-six Independent Colleges and Universities in Florida have recognized this agreement.
For more information, please visit the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF) web site or the Florida Department of Education Office of Articulation web site.
Statewide Articulation Agreements for A.A. Degree to other Private Colleges and Universities (that are not members of ICUF)
Some private colleges and universities that are not a member of ICUF have negotiated a statewide articulation agreement for all community colleges in Florida. The Florida Department of Education Division of Community Colleges has signed an articulation agreement with a few additional specific private colleges and universities. The Department of Education has also signed an articulation agreement with the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities for community college students who transfer with an A.S. in nursing and are a licensed Registered Nurse (RN). For more information, please visit the Florida Department of Education Office of Articulation web site.

Tips on transferring to a college without an articulation agreement
Florida State College at Jacksonville is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) so many of Florida State College at Jacksonville courses should transfer to colleges and universities across the United States. However, it is up to each individual school to decide what courses they will and won't accept, especially if you transfer to a school outside of the state of Florida. If you are interested in transferring to an institution that Florida State College at Jacksonville does not have an articulation agreement with , the first step would be to contact that school. The Admissions or Registrar staff should be able to tell you about their transfer policy. They may ask to see a copy of Florida State College at Jacksonville's course descriptions to get an idea about the course. Florida State College's catalog is available on-line so the school can easily reference course information. Once you complete the courses you would need to request an official copy of your Florida State College at Jacksonville transcript.
If you are interested in a Florida State College at Jacksonville Program of Study or a College/University major that is not listed, please contact a Florida State College at Jacksonville advisor or counselor for more information.
