Student Life and Leadership Development
Student Government Association
On a statewide level, Florida State College’s student government association is also a member of the Florida College System Student Government Association (FCSSGA).
The Florida College System Student Government Association (FCSSGA) represents the nearly one million students enrolled in the Florida College System's 28 colleges. The organization promotes legislative advocacy and training, leadership development, service learning, promotion of campus activities, and strong citizenship.
We are one of nine colleges in FCSSGA District 4, which also includes
Chipola College
Florida Gateway College
Florida State College at Jacksonville
Gulf Coast State College
North Florida Community College
Northwest Florida State College
Pensacola State College
Santa Fe College
Tallahassee Community College
Through participating in activities sponsored by FCSSGA, Florida State College at Jacksonville SGA members gain valuable lessons in leadership development, community relations and legislative issues.
We strive to reach out all of our students through various on-campus activities and open houses. In addition to campus activities, we are also very involved in community service and have strong bonds with the City Rescue Mission and the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless. Additionally, through our state organization, FCSSGA, we follow legislative issues that affect community college students and represent our students’ best interests on the state level.
