Tuition Installment Plans (TIPs)

Florida State College at Jacksonville offers monthly tuition installment plans (TIPs) during advanced registration for each term. Most students must pay the full cost of tuition by the scheduled payment deadline or risk being dropped from classes. TIPs allows students to pay for classes in monthly installments. For a nominal fee, tuition payments can be drafted monthly from a checking or savings account or through a credit card. TIPs is managed by Nelnet. Several different options to pay are offered, but the earlier you register and sign up for TIPs, the cheaper the cost, and the more options provided. Get more details:

To apply to pay for your tuition in installments, visit Connections and select “Payment Options.” Students completing applications for TIPs on payment deadlines must complete the process by 7 p.m. or risk having classes dropped.

I don’t have a computer, how can I enroll for the payment plan?
Although you may not have a computer of your own, you may enroll using a public computer at your city library or the computer lab at Florida State College.
I dropped all of my classes. Can I get my enrollment fee refunded?
As stated in the terms and conditions, and the brochure, the enrollment fee is nonrefundable. Nelnet does not issue refunds for the enrollment fee.
I’m applying for a veteran deferment. Will I have to pay an enrollment fee?
No, one veteran deferment per year is free. For additional information, get the brochure now.
I’m eligible for a veteran deferment. How do I apply?
The system will automatically recognize you as eligible for a veteran deferment if you have provided Florida State College’s veteran affairs department documentation of your eligibility to receive benefits. You are eligible for one veteran deferment per academic year.
My financial aid is now awarded. Will Nelnet or Florida State College adjust my TIPs?
Yes, the College will notify Nelnet of financial aid award changes. Your TIPs agreement will be adjusted based on the amount due after applying financial aid. A refund will be issued for amounts collected prior to your financial aid award. The refund is sent from Nelnet and is processed by the College. Refunds are processed 45-60 days from the last day of registration.
I’m due a refund for dropped classes, overpayment, or due to being dropped from the TIPs. When will I receive my refund?
All refunds will be issued by Florida State College. Refunds will not be issued until 45-60 days from the last day of registration.
I’m adding a class, do I need to go back online to complete another agreement?
No, you should only complete one agreement per term. When adding or dropping a class in Connections you’ll be asked whether or not Florida State College should increase or decrease your TIPs agreement to reflect your new schedule. If you indicate “yes,” your agreement is temporarily increased and forwarded to Nelnet within 24 hours for approval. If you plan to adjust your schedule more by adding or dropping additional classes and indicate “no,” your agreement will not be modified.
