Refund Timeline

This chart compares how long it will take for a student to receive funds depending on which of the two direct deposit options the student chooses. Option 1 is to have the direct deposit sent to a Higher One account set up through the FSCJ Refund Card. Option 2 is if the student chooses to have their funds sent to an existing bank account. With option 1, the student will have access to their refund or financial aid disbursement the same day the school sends the funds. In option 2, Higher One must send the funds to the student's banking institution and the student's bank must make the funds available. This process could take two-three days.

Can I have my FSCJ refund deposited to another bank account?

Yes, but note, if you choose to have your funds deposited to the bank of your choice, this transfer is subject to ACH Transfer timeframes and may take 2-3 business days. To have your funds deposited to your bank, you must first activate your FSCJ Refund Card. Select ACH Transfer to other bank for your refund preference and simply complete, print, and send (fax or mail) the required form to the designated address.

How much does an FSCJ Refund Card cost, and what happens if I lose my card?

There isn't a charge for the first FSCJRefund Card.

The College currently does not charge to replace the FSCJ Refund Card. If your card is lost, misplaced or you've never received the card and you've never specified a refund preference, the campus/center business office will verify your address and request a new card. Once received you will need to choose a refund preference, either direct deposit to your existing bank account or opening a Higher One bank account.

Once you have chosen a refund preference, either depositing to an existing bank account or opening a Higher One account, you should review the fee structure for your personal bank account to determine if a fee is assessed to replace a debit card. For more information, you can review Higher One's current fee structure.
