Student Assistance Program Workshops
Presented by Corporate Care Works - Spring 2012
Creating a School, Life and Work Balance
If you are like many students nowadays, you may have the responsibility of keeping up your grades while maintaining a full-time job or at least a part-time job. Many of you have households to keep running smoothly and children and families to take care of, in addition to the demands of your job and school. These are all priorities in life; however, how do you deal with each responsibility when priorities collide? This seminar will provide you with basic tips on how to better manage school, work and life in general. It is up to you to take this information and focus on making positive changes. During this session, participants can expect to: identify the causes of school/work/life stress; learn to prioritize your roles and responsibilities; and learn tips and techniques to help better create balance in your life.

Civility on Campus
This wellness seminar is about creating an environment of mutual respect. We'll start with the words Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. These inspiring words will provide the ideal to move toward as we consider how to contribute to an environment of mutual respect, understanding why civility is important, identifying what makes a behavior perceived as civil or uncivil, and learning ways to create an environment of respect.

Maintaining a Positive Self Image on Social Media
The purpose of this seminar is to discuss how students can use social media productively while maintaining a positive reputation. A variety of the most common forms of social media are reviewed in regards to their potential for both social and professional networking and information gathering. Suggestions are provided to help students to protect their privacy and to portray themselves professionally. During this session, we'll review some of the main forms of social media and how they can be used both professionally and personally, discuss how to maintain a positive reputation while using social media, and suggest ways to protect your privacy while using social media.
