Graduation and Commencement
Graduation 2011: Check out the video from this year's Commencement Ceremony held May 7, 2011, at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
If all goes as planned, it won’t be long until you are ready to graduate. Each term students who meet all graduation requirements for any degree (or program) at the end of each term will be automatically graduated. Florida State College holds one commencement exercise each year at the end of the second academic term, generally in May. However, students may be graduated at the end of any term in which they complete the graduation requirements.
Fall Term 2012
(Aug. 29, 2011-Dec. 16, 2011)
- Students are responsible for determining that all graduation requirements are complete and have no outstanding financial obligation to the college.
- Students must complete requirements for College-Level Academic Skills (CLAS).
- Students must have registered for all classes that are needed to complete graduation requirements by the ‘Last Registration Day’ of C8 session, October 30, 2011.
- Email will be sent during the week of November 14, 2011 to students who have been identified as “potential term graduates.”
- To assure that students have met the academic requirements, it is highly recommended you log in to Connections, and under the “My Alerts” tab, select “My Programs of Study/Degree Audit,” and display the correct degree audit (Program Name). If the “Graduation Status Message” states that you may not graduate, see an academic adviser for assistance.
- Students who meet graduation requirements at the end of each term will be automatically graduated.
Note: Completion of graduation takes approximately 10 working days. - The degree message will be reflected on students’ transcript by Jan. 20, 2012.
- Diplomas will be mailed to students within six to eight weeks of Jan. 20, 2012.
