The Psychological Impact of TV
Requirements:
The CableTV.com Psychological Impact of TV Scholarship is open to current or prospective college students who are enrolled or are planning on enrolling in a college or university program. The scholarship can be applied to any accredited U.S. university. Essays will be no longer than 1000 words in length and will be judged by professional writers. The criteria by which the essays will be judged are:
- Originality and effectiveness of argument
- Depth of information
- Grammar
How to enter:
Answer one of these two essay questions in 1000 words or less:
Essay #1:
Does television viewing help children learn and develop effective interpersonal skills, or does it hamper their ability to create meaningful relationships as they grow up? Why or why not?
Essay #2:
Cultivation Hypothesis suggests that society believes information gleaned through media is generally factual. Do you believe this to be true, and what are the implications of widespread television viewing on society as a whole?
How to win:
1. Like, Tweet, or +1 this scholarship at the top of their website.
2. Five Finalists will be selected based on the merits of their essays.
3. The Finalists will be notified by email, and their essays will be posted here on July 15, 2012.
4. The essays will be posted for two weeks where friends, family, and the general public can vote on their favorite essay through Facebook Likes.
5. On July 31st, 2012, the essay with the highest number of Facebook Likes wins.

The "Courage to Grow Scholarship" was created to help students realize their college dreams. Today's economy is hard enough on a family; it is our desire to ease some of the financial burden that a college education can put on individuals and their families.

Undergraduate Distance Learning Degrees — Academic Award

2012 Scholarship Award Program
The Florida Peanut Producers Association is offering their 2012 Scholarship Award Program, effective April 12, 2012.
Two $1,200 scholarships will be awarded to serving high school seniors and/or college students. The applicant or someone in the applicant’s family must be an actively producing peanut grower, not necessarily a member of the FPPA. It is the intent of the Scholarship Award Committee, however, that the award recipients attend a Florida junior college or four-year university.
Each winner will receive $600 when the scholarship winners are announced. The remaining $600 will be awarded after the completion of one semester and documentation of passing grades is submitted to the FPPA Office.
The Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than July 1, 2012.

The Last Khan Essay Contest is open to all current Undergraduate College and University students in the fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia which offer Bachelor of Art degrees in Communication, English, Education, Journalism, and/or their equivalent. Students are required to write an essay that meets the contest’s criteria, and submit it before the deadline on March 31, 2012. The student with the winning essay will be awarded $10,000 to be used towards his/her college tuition.
A panel of independent judges will then select the top three essays to be submitted and reviewed by author Geoff Hammond who will announce the winner on The Last Khan’s website May 1, 2012, along with his/her essay.
How to Apply
- Students must submit their essays online and fill out an application form with their contact information.
- Only one essay per student will be accepted.
- Applications are available for submission at www.thelastkhan.com.
- In the event that students are unable to submit the application and/or essay online, the alternative is to send their submission by mail which must be post marked no later than the deadline stated above.

The Jesse B. Smith Memorial Scholarship Review Committee is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for deserving and qualified persons residing in Duval County.
Scholarship of $1,000 are intended for the 2012-2013 academic year and must be used for tuition expenses at any higher education institution located in Duval County offering an undergraduate or graduate degree in urban studies, planning, public administration or a related field.

The Memorial Hospital Auxiliary recognizes the increasing cost of higher education in healthcare careers. For this reason they are offering the Memorial Hospital Scholarship Program.
General information
The Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Program will award college scholarships to graduating high school seniors or college enrollees who are Florida residents, and U.S. citizens, depending on fund availability.Winners are selected on the basis of academic merit, financial need and nursing career objectives. All applicants will be required to submit financial information and amount of family/spousal support or employment earnings.
Scholarship Awards
Scholarships are awarded for one year. The awards vary in amount. There is a new competition for these awards each year. Winning a scholarship one year does not necessarily mean that a recipient will win the following year. Applicants who do not win a scholarship one year may apply in later years.The scholarships will be applied to tuition expenses only in a nursing program at any accredited two or four-year college or university in Florida. Recipients may not transfer their scholarship to another college.
Eligibility
Scholarship applicants must be high school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores, juniors or rising seniors.Selection of Winners
An impartial Selection Committee composed of Auxiliary members selects the winners. In evaluating the applicants the committee considers the applicants high school records, standardizes test scores, college grades for those applicants who have attended college, extracurricular activities, including volunteer experience, work experience, financial need, and the two current letters of recommendation which are not from family members.Failure to submit ALL requested documentation will result in INELIGIBILITY for scholarship consideration.
All applicants will be notified by June 30, of the outcome of their application by letter.
Responsibilities of Recipients
Scholarship recipients must enroll as full-time students in the fall of 2012 and continue in school for the entire academic year without interruption, barring illness, emergency or military service.Scholarship recipients are responsible for making certain that Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is provided with the proper mailing address, as well as the Department of their colleges and universities.
Payment of Scholarship Funds.

The New beginning Scholarship is available to high school and college students. You must have a minimum 2.0 GPA to be eligible for this award. You must also submit a 250 word essay about your academic goals and your contributions to your school and/or community.
