English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
The adult education non–credit ESOL program offers classes for community residents whose native language is not English and who desire to learn and improve their English language skills in preparation for job placement and for education in credit courses at the College. Instruction is offered at six different levels from pre-literate to academic skills covering listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Citizenship classes are also offered. Classes are held at the Downtown Campus and at Deerwood Center during the day and evening, and there are evening classes offered at Wolfson and Fletcher High Schools.
Before registration, students must be tested to determine placement levels.
For testing and registration information, contact the ESOL office, Downtown Campus, at (904) 633-8360.
Visit our New Americans Program for refugees, asylees, Amerasians, victims of human trafficking, and Cuban and Haitian asylum applicants and parolees.
