May 17–June 21
Reception: May 17, 5–7:30 p.m.

Places - Real & Imagined is an exhibit of paintings, drawings and mixed media works that explore issues of identity and human fragility. Foard’s subject matter contains the histories, secrets and the biographical threading of relationships that exist in her memory and imagination. Hillary Hogue creates an interior mythical world in which have half-developed, injured, or dormant parts of the psyche have evolved into heroes, guides, deities, shadows and various “archetypal” entities that fill an ever expanding fictional world. Tory Wright transforms ads for luxury goods into delicate paper cuts, creating seductive and sinister forms that reframe ideas about female identity and material desire. By weaving together memories, creating personal mythologies, and reimagining archetypes, the artists create an alternate world that both reflects and reinvents their experience.
