TRIO Student Support Services
Health Science Program
“Changing Lives ... One Student at a Time”
Purpose
TRIO Student Support Services (TRIO SSS) is dedicated to increasing the retention, graduation and transfer rate of students with a demonstrated financial need, who are first generation college students or students with disabilities interested in pursuing a career in Health Science.
Eligibility Requirements
An applicant must:
- be a citizen or a national of the United States or meet the residency requirements for Federal Student Financial Aid
- be enrolled at FSCJ or have been accepted for full-time enrollment in the next academic term
- have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the College's financial aid office based on federal guidelines
- be a first generation college student or have a documented disability
- maintain at least a 2.0 or higher high school or college GPA
- submit a letter of recommendation from an instructor/teacher or counselor
- complete an application and return it to:

The TRIO Student Support Services Program is funded by the United States Department of Education, under the Title IV Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. The Federal TRIO Programs are outreach and support services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs.
