Dr. Anthony Smithson FSCJ Alumnus!

Dr. Anthony Smithson served in the Navy for eight years, rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. During that time he earned an Associate in Arts degree from FSCJ and a bachelor's degree from UNF. After graduation he realized the Navy did not currently have a path for him to pursue his ultimate passion; psychology. Dr. Smithson attained his psychology degree in Chicago, while staying connected to the military doing practicums in VA clinics. He applied to go back into the Navy and was accepted for his internship at Navy Balboa Hospital in San Diego. He completed his internship, graduated with his doctorate and is currently a Lieutenant in the Navy stationed at MCAS Cherry Point.
