Program Overview
Hybrid nine-week course
(For individuals who are not yet employed by a public safety organization)
Students will be required to be at the Criminal Justice Center at North Campus every other Saturday from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The nine-week hybrid course will allow students to not only prepare for the state exam but also to have weekly live simulation with 911 phone, radio and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. Both the online 911 dispatcher training and simulation are conducted by instructors with over 25 years of experience as PSTs in police, fire and rescue. Upon completion, the student will receive a certificate of completion and become eligible to take the Department of Health state exam to become a state certified 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator. Students will be required to submit a completed demonstrated competencies check book (provided).
Hybrid Course Dates:
April 6 – June 12 (online), with in-person sessions on Saturdays at FSCJ North Campus from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on 4/11, 4/18, 5/2, 5/23, and 6/6.
Tuition for this course is $950 per person.
Online nine-week course
(For public safety telecommunicators that are currently employed by public safety organizations)
Participants will engage in online class work and be required to have supervisors sign off on their ability to demonstrate necessary skills.
Tuition for this course is $550 per person.
