Program Overview
Risk Management for Small Businesses is a practical entrepreneurship course designed to help business owners minimize legal risks and protect their businesses from costly disputes and lawsuits. Participants will gain an understanding of essential business insurance, including general liability, professional liability, and cyber insurance, while learning strategies for operational risk management, proper employee and independent contractor classification, effective documentation practices, and customer conflict resolution. The course also explores risk mitigation systems that help small businesses proactively identify vulnerabilities, maintain compliance, and reduce legal exposure. Through hands-on workshops, including lawsuit prevention case studies, insurance gap analyses, employee classification simulations, and incident response and documentation exercises, participants will develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to build and operate a business with confidence while reducing the likelihood of legal challenges.
